オハイオの思い出 Christmas time in Ohio

米国　中西部　オハイオ州　シンシナティ市。

中都市と聞いていたが、東京と比べると、中都市というより、”村“。　




市内（ダウンタウン）は、端から端まで歩けるところ。

目立つ建物は、P＆G本社のツインタワーくらい。

とても保守的で、人々もこの町以外のことは知らないという感じ。

日本を地図で示せといったら、中国を指すかも。

そんな町。



冬はとにかく寒い。

マイナス10−20C（たぶん？）、寒いというより、痛い感覚。

この寒さも、クリスマス時は、なかなかいい。

田舎だからどの家も大きい。　

そこに電飾が飾られて、雪の白さが加わり、クリスマスの雰囲気。

Those photos remind me of icy cold Christmas in Cincinnati, Ohio. I first experienced temperature below 10−20 there and it was freezing cold. When I went out without wearing hat, my head hurt with some pressure, coldness, I assume. It was severe winter experience I will not experience it again.
I thank members of Hyde Park Community United Methodist Church on Michigan at Grace especially Lee, Roxanne, Bob, Mary, Linda, Shelly, Margaret, Jim, H family and so on. It was cold icy winter I had but you surely made my time pleasant. Servatii Pastry’s homemade breads and pastries only satisfied me in Cincinnati because I was so used to having good pastries in Tokyo.
I don’t think I will visit Cincinnati so soon; however, your warm-hearted friendship stays in me.
