It is peach tree just started blooming in spring. This peach tree harvested about 20 sweet and juicy white peaches last summer.
Fruit growers suggested using fish oil instead of using chemical pesticide. Fish oil is natural and it is way for producing organic fruits. It is astonishing that fish oil can be used as natural pesticide to protect tree from insects. Fruits growers gave guidance how to spray fish oil to the tree. I was surprised that fish oil works like insect screen protecting tree from insects.
Fish oil is popular for human beings¡Ç health and people including me taking fish oil supplement for daily nutrient as omega 3 fatty acid.
According to Nikkei Newspaper dated March 1st, 2008, study of Professor Okuyama, Kinjo Gakuin University showed balance of oil intake is important and it may work controlling allergy.
It was very interesting to know how omega 3 fatty acid works for not only human beings but also for plants.

Almond jerry at dim sum restaurant is refreshing dessert after having fried or steamed dishes. Origin of almond jerry is made from inside of apricot seeds; however, it is difficult to come across real almond jerry nowadays commented by dim sum fans.
Almond powder is used for Chinese medicine preventing cough and asthma and it also help relieving constipation.
Sugar added almond powder is popular drink in Taiwan and Singapore and it is easy to find in stores and shops. I like almond powder without sugar because it is easy to control sugar amount and it is flexible to mix with other flours.
I created this cookie recipe after an examination. It was little too sweet for me that I expected. I will reduce sugar next time.

I got an opportunity visiting AT&T Park for one of opening game early April last year by a given ticket. I wanted to see a big grab and coca-cola bottle sit inside of AT&T Park. The grab and bottle were big and I did not realize that inside of bottle was slide.
A friend who is a big baseball fan emphasized that bulletin board was brand new and large size; however, the board did not look large to me.
The day was perfect weather for ballgame watch and I was very satisfied going inside of park seeing grab and coca-cola bottle!!

This area is in
Taito-ku, Tokyo, Japan. First photo is Kasuga dori and it runs from Asakusa to Hongo-3 chome where just close to Tokyo University through Okaschimachi JR Station and then keeps going to west. In Taito-ku, there are many interesting places to sightsee especially for foreign visitors to Tokyo.
Sensoji temple and its huge lantern in front of the approach to a temple are picturesque for visitors and you will see Jinrikisha, rickshaw for tourists surrounding the lantern. The area gives you atmosphere of Edo and you will experience Japanese culture and history. At the approaching to temple, there are many souvenir shops selling Japanese crafts and sweets and you probably get excited finding things new.
Not only Asakusa and other part of Taito-ku are interesting and exciting to me.
This restaurant named Kyushokutoban, lunch-server, serves Japanese school lunch. When you visit their webpage, you will find Japanese school lunch served on aluminum dishes.
I personally took friends from overseas to Tokyo sightseeing and all of them satisfied seeing Taito-ku including Asakusa, Okachimachi, Ueno and Kappabashi. I recommend visitor to wear comfortable shoes and just walk around this neighborhood. You will find charm of Tokyo and Edo in Taito-ku. I hope you enjoy your visit to Tokyo!!

This is Korean Schizandra fruits, or Chinese mock-braberry. I first tasted this tea or drink in Korean restaurant after having Korean BBQ. Tea tasted sour just like cranberry juice and it was refreshing after meat dish.
Korean friend explained this berry called Omijya, 5 tastes, sweet, sour, bitter, spicy and salty. I didn¡Çt taste bitter, spicy and salty at that time.
When I was in Seoul, I bought dried Schizandra Fruits selling at department store and salesperson told me how to make this drink. This red-colored-berry drink is good for blood-pressure stability, diabetes prevention, fatigue, detoxification, and good for liver. This contains rich vitamin C.

When weather gets warm, allergy season will come. Cedar allergy is popular here in Japan and a lot of people have the pollen allergy.
I first experienced plant allergy in Boston long time ago. I didn¡Çt realize that I had had allergy because symptoms were similar to cold; fever, sneezing, and running nose. It was uncomfortable having cold-like condition in summertime. A neighbor mentioned that I had plant allergy occurring only Asian people there because Asians did not have antibodies.
The neighbor was Caucasian female who did not have allergy but her Burmese husband had plant allergy as well as their 3 children. I got Sudafed from them and it reduced allergy especially fever and itching eyes.
I have almost forgotten about my allergy experience in Boston but sudden rash appeared my almost entire body few months ago. I have never figured out what was the trigger. I had had minor rush during high humidity; however, I got shock having the severe rash in late evening.
Allergy is somewhat mysterious to me because it appears randomly. I don¡Çt think there is no fundamental treatment of this. I can only try taking natural food and place myself in good environment.

Buildings I paid attention, in Taipei during sightseeing, were build by Japanese or Japanese government during the Japanese occupation. You will come across those Japanese built buildings in Taipei; Taiwan National University, Hongrou Theater, Governor-General, National Taiwan Museum and so on.
I saw this church after passing National Taiwan Medical building on Chunsan South Street while I was heading to Taipei Station. I stopped by church office and asked for sightseeing inside of church building. This was built for Japanese believer in 1916 and was Japanese church named Saiwai cho church. After World War ¶, this church became a Presbyterian Church. It is beautiful red-colored brick architecture outside and inside keeps in good condition and used it for Sunday service. The wooden steps to bell tower squeaked little bit but rest of church was maintained in good condition.
I thank Taiwanese people to preserve those Japanese architectures in Taiwan.

Mix flour, flaxseed meal, soy powder, sugar, salt, olive oil, and dry-yeast in bawl: add warm water. Mix well by hand or processor.
Turn dough onto lightly floured surface; knead until smooth and elastic, about 10 minutes. Place in greased bowel: turn greased side up.
Cover and let rise in warm place until double. 40-60 minutes.
Punch down dough: divide into halves. Let rest 5 minutes.
Flatten each half with hands or rolling pin into rectangle. Roll dough up tightly towards you, beginning at one on the open ends. After rolling dough up tightly, pinch edge of dough into roll to seal firmly.
Press each and with side of hand to sea; fold ends under loaf. Place loves, seam side down, in 2 greased loaf pan.
Brush loaves lightly with margarine if desired. Let rise until double, 35-50 minutes.
Heat oven 425 degrees (218C). Place loaves on low rack so that tops of pans are in center of oven. Bake until deep golden brown and loaves sound hollow when tapped, 25 to 30 minutes. Remove from pans, cool on wire rack.

Omega-6 fatty acid sources are corn oil, safflower oil, sunflower oil and so on. Omega-3 fatty acid sources are DHA and EPA reduces risk of prostate cancer.
Flaxseed, is good source of omega-3 fatty acids and fiber, contains protein, calcium, potassium, B vitamins, and iron. Lignans, phytoestrogens in flax, appear to bind with testosterone, reducing circulating testosterone levels. Flaxseed may work to block tumor growth, inhibit angiogenesis, and enhance the immune system. Recommended flaxseed intake is 1-2 tablespoons daily.
Flaxseed provides natural plant estrogens which some experts say can offset some symptoms of menopause. Medical studies show that lignans in flaxseed may help preventing bone loss of osteoporosis.
Cancer prevention nutrition class, at UCSF cancer center, taught me how plant-based diet keeps our good health. Especially flaxseed is good source for keeping female healthy.

My first watch of Kabuki performance was New Year special program more than ten years ago at Kabuki Theater in Ginza. Ticket was more than 10000 yen, $100 US dollars and the special program completed late afternoon. I recalled my first Kabuki watch was very long and was not interested so much because I had great difficulty understanding lines of actors.
Things I enjoyed that day were theater¡Çs special lunch box during intermission at theater restaurant and traditionally woven colorful and vivid kimono and costumes.
After my first kabuki watch, I admitted it was enough for experiencing Japanese traditional art.
I found ¡Èmakumi¡É, a one-act watch at Kabuki Theater by theater¡Çs telephone guide. The guide recommended choosing dance watch for foreign visitors and tourists for just experiencing Japan¡Çs traditional performing arts. Not only foreign visitors and also I enjoyed ¡Èmakumi¡É at Kabuki Theater. Listening to traditional instruments and seeing bright lighten kimono and costume impressed us and I thought ticket was reasonable for an hour program.
¡ÈMakumi¡É is good way for glancing Japanese performing arts.

I used to enjoy watching gourmet reports¡Ç programs on TV. Whenever I see that kind of programs, it really stimulates my appetite. Those month-watering dishes and desserts influenced appetite even my stomach was full or satisfied with food. I realized that I picked some food out from pantry and actually had it.
I had tried to avoid watching gourmet programs away from my eyesight awhile and was curious how I respond it. Believe it or not, stop watching grummet program somewhat worked controlling appetite and then I lost interest seeing gourmet food related programs on TV. After I lost interest of watching it, I didn¡Çt feel joy or pleasure from food programs. There must be some related study in medical or physiological field. However, it is good way for me not to stimulate appetite anymore. I have been enjoying watching beautifully shot food photos in other¡Çs weblog. It makes me feel full and satisfied.

The photo is taken at Dungeness crab Festival in town of Dungeness, Washington. A friend who lives Port Angels took me Sequim and we stopped the festival. I was explained that Dungeness crab got name from town of Dungeness, Washington.
The area including Dungeness and Port Angels have rich sea food; crabs, fish, and oysters.

My highly recommended seafood in SF is Dungeness crab and it is season right now. Price is around $2.99 during crab season. Dungeness crab are sold in Fisherman¡Çs¡Ç Wharf in San Francisco but taste is not so good there and it is not fresh.
I usually buy Dungeness crab at Chinatown on Stockton and ask salesperson to choose a big crab from tank. Here is a tip of choosing fresh crab. When salesperson chooses crab from tank, I ask him to return crab into tank again. If crab moves energetically, it means fresh.
Chinese people eat crab with ginger and vinegar because crab makes body temperature low.
I personally like to eat crab with no dipping sauce because fresh crab tastes sweet.

At R&G Lounge, on Kearney and Commercial front of Trans America pyramid, serve Salt & Pepper crab and it is highly recommended dish by picky Chinese people.

Seaweed, it is nori in Japanese and kim () in Korean. The photo is taken Nori specialty shop in Ameyoko,Tokyo. As you see a photo, price range is spread up to 10.000yen (more than $ 100 US) for 10 sheets. It is expensive and it is surely high quality nori that I have ever tasted.
Nori is used for wrapping rice making roll, maki or onigiri, rice ball in Japan.
Korean roll, kimpab (김밥) is similar to Japanese norimaki (³¤ÂÝ´¬¤). Kim means seaweed and pab is rice in Korean.
Nori contains aqueous fiber, vitamin A, VB1, VB2, VB12, VC, EPA, calcium, iron, protein, amino acid, therefore, nori is admitted nutrient food. I recalled that Caucasian friends in East Coast disliked nori flavor when I brought rice cracker with nori long time ago. They commented that flavor was too fishy. It made me surprise because they lived close to sea but they disliked the flavor. However, nori or seaweed is admitted as nutrient food as health concerned people in the States and health food stores sell it.

Photos are taken in Point Lobos State Park in California in January. Weather was windy and cool with little mist when we arrived at Point Lobos where 2-3 hours drive from SF city to south. I enjoyed seeing beautiful natural sceneries facing to Pacific Ocean while driving down on coast to Point lobos. 1st photo is my favorite shooting. I like this photo because this somewhat makes me feel warm and security.
A friend and I tried to watch whales swimming toward north; however it was too far to see them clearly but spouting told us that they were there. A visitor found sea otters but it was too far and rough waves hid them from us. I felt nature gives so much energy for human beings and it actually healed mind and spirit from it.
